A notary public is a state-commissioned public officer who verifies identities and witnesses the signing of important documents to help prevent fraud. They also administer oaths and take acknowledgments, confirming that the person signing is doing so willingly and understands the document. Our general role is to add an extra layer of trust and credibility to a document.
Notarization is the process of verifying a signer’s identity and witnessing them sign a document. During the appointment, we'll confirm your identity using an unexpired government-issued photo ID, make sure you understand what you’re signing and are doing so willingly, and then complete the required notarial certificate and seal. For in-person appointments, all signers should have their document ready and bring a valid government-issued photo ID.
For Remote Online Notarization (RON), the process is completed securely online using an approved platform. Prior to your appointment, you must scan and/or securely upload your documents to the online platform. Then, your identity is verified electronically, you’ll meet with the notary by live audio/video session, and the document is notarized digitally without needing to meet in person. Requirements can vary depending on the document type, so if you’re unsure what to bring, feel free to reach out before your appointment.

Yes. Pursuant to New York State law, we are required to refuse notarizations if:
The signer lacks valid ID

Yes. While there are many documents that can be notarized, there are certain documents that we legally cannot notarize. We are unable to notarize incomplete documents, documents that appear to be altered or suspicious, or documents where the signer is not present, unwilling, or unable to show acceptable identification. We also cannot notarize birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, or any other vital records, since certified copies must be obtained from the proper government agency. If you are unsure whether your document can be notarized, feel free to contact us before booking and we can let you know if it is something we are able to help with.
